The FBCC “Hard Luck Award” is presented annually to the member who best epitomized the trials, tribulations, excitement, and heart-breaking disappointments of owning and driving a classic British motor car during the prior year.
The 2024 winner of the “Hard Luck Award” was Roy Scharwachter. He was awarded his trophy with a black toy MGA, with a scraped right rear fender, hail damage to the paint, and with flames engulfing the front of the car while it was being towed by a toy tow truck. This represented some of his many challenges in the past year.
Previous winners of the FBCC “Hard Luck Award” include:
2023 Paul Novak
2022 Charlie Blakely
2000 Tom Buto
(Other winners will be listed once identified)

In keeping with long standing FBCC traditions, the last winner of the “Hard Luck Award” is responsible for selecting the next year’s winner, preparing a suitable trophy, and presenting it to the new “Hard Luck Award” winner at the annual FBCC Christmas Party.
