On April 11, 2026, the FBCC will be hosting an old-fashioned Time Speed Distance road rally, think 1966, but adjusted for a 2026 reality. This event will combine a good drive in the country, with the scoring (TIME) at the checkpoints to the minute, not second as it was. (SPEED) as the rally instructions for average speed will be the same, or sometimes slower, than the posted speed limit. (DISTANCE) approximately 60 miles. Of course that depends on how often you miss a turn.

These are not the Route Instructions. General Instructions can be considered the rules of the game. It will also include appropriate TSD tables, and instructions on how to use them, if you really want to play the game properly. In March, we will host a Rally School at Jud’s Brown building. Everything will be fully explained, all your questions will be answered, and then there will be an escorted 10-15 mile practice rally.

This will be fun and you get to bring a friend to share in the fun.

• Tuesday, February 10, 2026 – Program Presentation
  • Carl Baker will present a program at our Monthly Meeting about a TSD Rally. Please attend with your navigator if you can.
• March 14, 2026 – Training Run
  • There will be a training run on a smaller, different course. Leaves from Jud’s Brown Building at 10 AM. Lunch afterward at Stubborn Mule Brewery in Landrum. Bring your walkie-talkies as Carl will be giving instructions during the training run.
• April 11, 2026 – Day of The Rally
  • 9:00 AM arrival to pick up packet and last minute instructions
  • 9:30 The first cars are out. Cars leave in 1 minute intervals
  • 12:15-12:45. Cars expected at Stubborn Mule
  • 1:00 Lunch and Awards

The event will be capped at 30 cars

Everyone is welcome to come spectate and join us for lunch afterward.
